Headway Therapy Group Clinicians

Our therapists know that starting therapy can feel like a big step.

It takes a lot of vulnerability to come to this decision. On top of that, it takes an immense amount of strength to move forward with that decision. Our therapists know and respect that. For many people, the idea of opening up to a stranger feels intimidating. Which definitely makes sense! Sharing details of your experiences that some of your friends might not even know can feel a little unsettling. As experienced therapists, we’ve worked with many people going through the same thing you are right now. And, with that in mind, we find that it can help if you get to know us a little beforehand!

Our counseling practice offers therapy for women in San Diego, CA and therapy in San Diego, CA.During my journey as a therapist, founding Headway Therapy has enriched my experience.

Headway Therapy is the realization of a dream I’ve had since first starting my career in psychology 15 years ago. Over my career, I’ve worked internationally, on the east coast. and here in San Diego. And I’ve worked at some great organizations, but it’s always been more fulfilling for me to work in private practice.

As a therapist, It provides an opportunity to form deeper relationships with clients. I’m fortunate to have found a career where I can help people realize their potential. The role of a therapist is very fulfilling. My vision for Headway Therapy is to create a warm, safe, and tranquil environment. Really, an environment for connecting, healing, and growing.

A little about me outside of being a therapist

I’m passionate about therapy. And, become geek-ishly excited learning new things! I balance this all out with lots of downtime at the beach or in the mountains and adventuring with my husband and children.

As a therapist, I know the journey to healing and growth is deeply personal.

And, I feel honored to be alongside the people I work with as they endeavor towards greater understanding, empowerment, and change. I appreciate the context within which people function and value the importance these various systems might play in their struggles. From significant relationships, family of origin, friendships to work. These relationships are all explored within a collaborative, empathic therapeutic relationship. Of course, with the intention of facilitating the desired change. Together, we create a deeper understanding of you and your relationships.

Through my experience as a therapist, this has been amazing to be part of.

I am particularly drawn to working with those who have suffered trauma. And, my goal is to provide a safe space in which to retell their story. Together, we can begin processing the impact of their experience. And, determine how to move forward in a healthy and successful way. It is a privilege to witness the courage and the resilience that grows from moving through the pain of the past hurt, healing, and thriving.

Elizabeth’s session rate is $225.
