Therapy FAQs

If you’re considering therapy and want to understand whether this approach fits, start here.

Do you offer a consultation?

Yes. I offer a brief consultation so we can see whether working together feels like a good fit. This isn’t a sales call, it’s a grounded conversation to clarify what you’re looking for and how I work.

What do people usually come to you for?

Most clients come in feeling anxious, stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected, often after years of functioning well on the outside while struggling internally. I work with adults navigating anxiety, trauma, life transitions, relationship patterns, identity shifts, and women’s mental health concerns.

The focus is on understanding what’s driving these patterns, not just managing symptoms.

How do you approach therapy?

My work is relational, depth-oriented, and grounded in contemporary psychotherapy research. Therapy is collaborative and tailored, not scripted or one-size-fits-all.

We focus on emotional patterns, nervous system responses, attachment history, and how past experiences continue to shape present life. This is thoughtful psychotherapy, not surface-level coping strategies alone.

Do you work with anxiety and trauma?

Yes. Anxiety and trauma are often intertwined, even when symptoms don’t appear dramatic. Therapy addresses both the immediate experience and the deeper emotional and relational patterns underneath.

Do you offer trauma-focused therapy or EMDR?

Yes. When appropriate, I integrate trauma-focused approaches, including EMDR, alongside relational and attachment-based work. Everything is paced carefully and collaboratively.

Who is your practice a good fit for?

I work exclusively with adults. This practice tends to be a good fit for people who are thoughtful, curious about themselves, and interested in deeper psychological work, even if they don’t yet have clear language for what’s wrong.

Do you offer in-person or online therapy?

I offer in-person therapy in North County San Diego and secure online therapy for adults located anywhere in California.

Where are you located?

My office is in North County San Diego. The address is 169 Saxony Road, Suite 203, Encinitas, CA.

How long are sessions and how often do we meet?

Sessions are 50 minutes. Most clients begin with weekly therapy, and frequency may shift over time depending on goals and clinical needs.

What are your fees?

My fee is $275 per session. More information can be found in the Fee section.

Do you take insurance?

I do not accept insurance directly. I can provide a superbill for clients who wish to seek out-of-network reimbursement, depending on their plan.

What is a superbill?

A superbill is a detailed receipt you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement, depending on your coverage.

What if I’m not sure therapy is right for me?

That uncertainty is common. Therapy often starts with curiosity rather than certainty. The consultation offers a low-pressure way to explore whether this feels like a helpful next step.

What if I’ve tried therapy before and it didn’t help?

Many people arrive after therapy experiences that felt rushed or surface-level. This work emphasizes depth, pacing, and the therapeutic relationship, often the difference-maker.
